53rd and 54th Convocations of CIIT were held in CIIT Abbottabad. Overall six hundred and forty four (644) students of CIIT Abbottabad were awarded degrees in both the sessions whereas thirty (30) students with distinctions were presented with gold, silver and bronze medals.
The event was attended by the graduating students, parents of the graduating students, faculty members and other distinguished guests from various fields of life.
The graduating students comprised students from the batches of Spring 2007, Fall 2007, Spring 2008, Fall 2008, Spring 2009, Fall 2009, Spring 2010, Fall 2010, Spring 2011, and Fall 2011. 143 students were conferred their Master of Sciences (MS) degrees.
Students receiving MS degrees were from the departments of Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, Management Sciences, Development Studies, Banking & Finance, Project Management, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Pharmacy and SWSHD (Sustainable Water, Sanitation and Health Development).
Students Representatives on behalf of all graduating students expressed their gratitude to the parents and teachers and stated that it is because of their parents and teachers that they have achieved their goal and our long cherished sweet dreams have come to fruition. All graduating students gave their parents and teachers a standing ovation as a mark of respect and acknowledgement for the great job done.
Director CIIT Abbottabad Prof. Dr Khan Gul Jadoon presented the annual report of the campus and congratulated the graduating students.
Rector CIIT Dr S.M. Junaid Zaidi, urged the graduates to concentrate on serving the country. He asked them to promote corruption-free society and rid the country of nepotism and favouritism. Dr Junaid Zaidi said since its inception in 2000, the COMSATS had been at the forefront of innovations and played an active part in shaping the modern day higher education.
