Office of Development organized a series of seminars on career counseling. The topics were: CV Writing and Interviewing Skills, Investor Education Seminar, Stress/Conflict Management and Job Searching

Seminars were consisting of three sessions.

Session 1:  CV Writing and Interviewing Skill

Guest Speaker:  Mr. Omer Hassan (Assistant Professor Management Sciences)

Following were the objectives

• Discover how to write a powerful resume and get short-listed for more jobs;
• Learn how to prepare a customized cover letter that will get employer's attention;
• Learn how to prepare for interviews and build their confidence levels;
• Learn strategies for responding to behavioral-based interview questions; and
• Learn how to conduct an effective job search and access the hidden job market;
• Conduct a reality check on their career aspirations.

Session 2:  Investor Education Seminar

Guest Speaker:  Mr. Murtaza Abbas Naqvi (Deputy Speaker, Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan)

Following were the objectives

• Introduction of different financial products as well as to expand the outreach of financial services and product in CIIT.
•  Learn how to make financial planning, investing opportunities, capital markets and basics of savings.
• Learn about  Jama-punji that is an investor Education Initiative of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan

Session 3:  Stress/Conflict Management and Job Searching

Guest Speaker:  Mr. Obaid Ali (Assistant Professor Management Sciences)

Following were the objectives

• How to handle psychological, social and job stress by problem solving skill in order to achieve internal and external balance to achieve success in the family and career life.
• Learn how to apply relaxation techniques and exercises.
• Finding meaning in your work, in your relationship and in your life.

Workshop ended with presenting the shield to guest speaker by Director, Professor Dr. Khan Gul Jadoon.
