Research Productivity Award Ceremony 2023-24

COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Abbottabad campus stands out across the university’s entire system for its tradition of recognizing and honoring faculty members’ research contributions. In line with this, the Graduate office headed by Dr. Umar Farooq, Chairman of the Campus Graduate Program Committee (CGPC), organized the 2023-24 Research Productivity Award Ceremony on October 25, 2024, at the Haroon Rasheed Auditorium. The event was attended by Departmental Heads, PhD faculty, and other campus officials witnessed the distribution to the top researchers from the campus. The Director of CUI Abbottabad campus, Merit Professor Imtiaz Ali Khan, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Mr. Muhammad Haseeb from the Graduate Office served as the stage secretary for the event.

In his opening address, Dr. Umer Farooq extended his gratitude to Director Imtiaz Ali Khan for his support throughout the award selection process and for attending the event. He acknowledged the efforts of the Graduate Office team in organizing the ceremony and expressed special appreciation for the Research Productivity Award Committee, chaired by Prof. Dr. Afsar Khan, for ensuring transparency and merit in the selection process. Dr. Umar Farooq highlighted the importance of research productivity and advocated for building research collaborations with industries to help address societal challenges.

Director Merit Professor Imtiaz Ali Khan also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the vital role of research in improving society’s well-being. He stressed the importance of fostering a research-oriented culture within educational institutions and urged a shift toward a student-centered approach in education, aiming to develop active, skilled, and productive individuals. He also spotlighted the ongoing research projects at CUI Abbottabad, commending faculty efforts in promoting entrepreneurial and innovative research on campus. Prof. Imtiaz Ali stated that CUI instills in its students the qualities essential for success in their professional lives.

At the end, Merit Prof. Imtiaz Ali Khan and Dr. Umar Farooq distributed the shields, certificates and cash prizes among the faculty members.
