A Breast cancer seminar was held in CUI, Abbottabad Campus
A Breast cancer seminar was on 04th October 2024 in COMSATS University Abbottabad Campus. In Pakistan, Breast cancer is gradually spreading in women in all the regions. Unfortunately, Pakistan has the highest incidence of breast cancer in Asia. The causes of breast cancer are not yet known with certainty and research into this continues. Nevertheless, studies have shown that early detection of breast cancer can result in a best survival.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of awareness of breast cancer in Pakistan, this treatable disease is usually. We cannot rely or wait for others to take up this issue seriously. In this connection, Dawaa Society Department of Pharmacy conducted a brief and very exclusive session at COMSATS University, Abbottabad in Haroon u Rasheed auditorium.
Currently, this year we want to strive this campaign along with the following renowned organizations to maximize our gathering for the awareness about this dreadful disease in our country. October is observed as Breast cancer Month all over the world to create awareness among public.
Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission is playing active role in addressing this cancer through its 20 cancer hospitals situated in different areas of the country and INOR, Abbottabad is one of them. In this regards a brief interactive session was held with female students, staff and faculty of COMSATS University. This was comprised brief presentations followed by Q & A session in which consultant oncologists/cancer Specialists participated very effectively about breast cancer awareness and documented how can we all protect out self from this deadly disease.
The Renowned consultants and cancer specialist highlighted the major experiences and updated educational guidelines and screening parameters for the maximum survival rate of our females in breast cancer hallmarks in our society.Professor Dr Abdul Jabbar Shah Chairperson Department of Pharmacy showed high level of encouragement to provide full support to build up liaison with all hospitals of this region who are serving for breast cancer. He appreciated the efforts of Dawaa society to promote this cause in last few years very effectively. Head of Department, Professor Dr Abdul Mannan presented the shields to the speakers and In-charge Dawaa Society Muhammad Naeem Riaz and congratulate to conduct the seminar.
