Introduction

COMSATS Community Development Unit (CCDU) is an integral part of COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus (CUI), Abbottabad Campus. CUI Abbottabad is a part of the COMSATS (Commission on Science & Technology for Sustainable Development), an international organization, aiming at socio economic uplift of the third world through positive application of science and technology. Established in October 1994, COMSATS currently represents 21 developing countries across the three continents. CCDU has played vital role in the relief and rehabilitation of earthquake (2005), Conflict, Flood (2010) affected communities. CCDU believes in community empowerment and working with bottom up approach for the uplift of extremely vulnerable, marginalized and poorest of the poor in the society. CCDU is working with youth and children with the vision that they are agents of change and hold the key for the prosperous future and sustainably developed nation. For the achievement of this vision CCDU has launched Community Development Program, Professional Program, Environmental Development Program, and Disaster Management Program.
