Visit of Foreign Faculty to the Department of Electrical Engineering CUI, Abbottabad Campus on 12-03- 2025
COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, had the privilege of hosting Prof. Toomas Vaimann (Research Professor) and Prof. Dr. Ants Kallaste (Professor) from Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia on 12th March 2025. The visit was marked by insightful academic discussions, cultural exchange, and exploration of potential collaborations.
The event began with Prof. Toomas Vaimann enlightening the audience about the culture of Estonia, the academic programs offered at Tallinn University of Technology, and the scholarship opportunities available for international students. His presentation provided valuable insights into the educational landscape of Estonia and inspired students to explore global academic opportunities.
Following this, Prof. Dr. Ants Kallaste delivered an engaging talk on “Additive Manufacturing of Electrical Machines”. His presentation highlighted the latest advancements in the field and their practical applications, offering students and faculty members a deeper understanding of this cutting-edge technology.
The visit also included a meeting between the visiting professors, the Director of CUI Abbottabad Campus, Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak, Dr. Irfan Ullah (HoD Electrical Engineering), and Dr. Faisal Khan, along with other faculty members. The discussion focused on exploring potential collaborations between the two institutions, including joint research projects, student supervision, and academic publications.
The event was successfully organized under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak, with the support of Dr. Irfan Ullah and Dr. Faisal Khan. Their efforts ensured the smooth execution of the program, making it a memorable and productive experience for all participants.
