The Humanities department of COMSATS and the Professors’ Association for Student’s Services (also known as PASS) organized a one-day research workshop on “Critical Thinking, Research Methodology, and Academic Writing” on March 25, 2022. Expert guest speakers graced the occasion with their presence and worthy contributions. The director of COMSATS, Merit Professor Imtiaz Ali Khan was the chief guest on this occasion.
Dr Rashid Mughal, the chief organizer from PASS, provided a brief overview of his organization. Prof. Ahsan-ur-Rahim, Principal GDC Havelian, shared his views on the topic, ” Paradigms in social sciences”. Dr. Akhter Rasool Bodla, conducted a session on the topic “Critical thinking and Spirit of Inquiry”. Dr. Summaira Naz conducted an interactive session on the topic “How to write a research proposal”. Mr. Muhammad Zubair provided valuable insight into the way SPSS can be used for data analysis in social sciences research.
The event was a huge success as it was attended by a curious audience of students who were actively engaged throughout the workshop. The panel discussion opened up many new debates which held great promise as topics for future workshops to be organized in a similar vein. COMSATS and PASS vowed to collaborate further in the future.
