A one-day awareness and advocacy seminar was conducted at COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus by the Department of Development Studies in collaboration with the Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar and the German development agency GIZ on Right to Information and Right to Services as part of the RTI and RTS Champions Program on the 16^th of August, 2021.

The main target audience of the seminar were the female students of Development Studies Department as well as female faculty and staff from different departments at COMSATS Abbottabad. A group of female students and teachers from Beaconhouse School System Abbottabad also attended and participated in the awareness session.

Dr. Arif Alam, Head of Department of Development Studies, welcomed the guests and the participants of the seminar. The seminar included several sessions by I.M. Sciences staff Professor Dr. Usman Ghani (joint Director), Dr. Nauman, and Ms. Shumaila Tabassum as well as representatives from GIZ Mr. Kashif. The sessions included an open discussion forum on the Right to Information and Right to Services, the details of the RTI and RTS and how

they can be exercised, especially in the context of female citizens. Interactive practice sessions on the preparation and filing of applications and complaints were demonstrated in detail by the trainers in different sessions.

Mr. Sajid Khan Jadoon, Chief Commissioner to the KP RTI Commission, graced the event as the guest of honor. The session was concluded by vote of thanks by the worthy Director COMSATS Abbottabad, Professor Dr. Imtiaz Ali Khan, who also highlighted the importance of the right to information and services especially for females in our society and encouraged all participants to exercise this right in this regard. Gifts and souvenirs were distributed by the Director COMSATS Abbottabad to the organizers and the guests of the seminar.
