Cake cutting ceremony for Chinese students for their Lunar Year celebration.
On January 22, 2023, the Chinese celebrated their new year. This is a Spring festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. The Lunar New Year is the event celebrated by Millions of people across the world on the first moon of their calendar.
The international office arranged a small get-together with the Chinese students over a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new year with the students. Three Chinese Ph.D. scholars, Zeng Hui, Yang Heng, and Ma Ying Hua happily participated in the cake-cutting ceremony arranged to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year. The students shared the details of the Spring festival and briefed the Campus Director regarding the traditions of the cake-cutting ceremony.
The campus Director, Prof Dr. Muhammad Maroof Shah, Incharge International Office Ms. Saadia Munir, APO Graduate Studies Ms. Sehrish Wali, Coordination officer Mr. Naseer Ahmed, and Assistant International Office Mr. Waqar Ahmed were present at the occasion.
All three students were happy with the cake-cutting ceremony hosted by the international office and the campus Director. They visited the local markets in Islamabad to purchase special grocery items to prepare dumplings for themselves on the occasion of the New Year.
