It is a pleasure to share the good news that Dr. Javed Iqbal Tanoli, Assistant Professor, Department of Earth Sciences has won the grant worth ~5.3 Million PKR for the NRPU research project entitled “Debris Flow Hazard Assessment in NW Pakistan; Application of GIS and Geomorphological Technique”. This project will address the regional potential threat of the Debris flow Hazard in Hunza, Chitral, and Indus river basins. The debris flow generates an enormous sediment supply to the drainage system that ultimately affects the infrastructure, settlements, and particularly micro and mega hydro projects. We heartily congratulate him on this achievement and wish many of him more such achievements in the future
