One day drugs awareness seminar was organized on December 29, 2021 at COMSATS University, Abbottabad Campus in collaboration with District Police, Abbottabad. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Hazara Range – Mirwais Niaz, District Police Officer – Zahoor Babar Afridi, Director COMSATS University Prof. Dr. Imtiaz Ali Khan, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Ayaz Saleem Rana, SP Investigation Abbottabad – Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan, Electronic and Print media officials and others attended the seminar. Deputy Inspector General of Police Hazara Range, Mirwais Niaz said that the police officials are duty-bound to take legal action against the outlaws, especially the drug paddlers, and it is also the moral duty of people to cooperate with the police in the eradication of drugs. The DIG hoped that all the teachers and students of COMSATS University would give full support to the police in the ongoing campaign for the eradication of drugs.

DPO Abbottabad Zahoor Babar Afridi while expressing his views said that but we may only eliminate this disease of drugs from our societies with unity and together we will.

The Director COMSATS University – Prof. Dr Imtiaz Ali Khan said that the purpose of this awareness seminar is to prevent the use of drugs in society, which had been spreading rapidly in all segments of society, especially among the students. “We have to realize the severity of this crime, which is not only extremely dangerous and unhealthy but will have long-lasting effects on our future generations”, he added. 

Overall the event remained an enlightening session for all the participants.
